The website is going to expand in the next few weeks. Our group is still going and our kids are doing well. The group exchanges information through social media and informal gatherings. If you are interesting on connecting with families that have experienced the gifts and challenges of Down Syndrome; please reach out to our contact person (Sharon Oberkreiser) and/or reach out on the Facebook group.

Our next meeting is Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 6:00pm in the lower level conference room of the Hooper Building (36 Broad Street, Oshkosh). We will be watching Video on Protocol. "A combination of drugs recommended for depression and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder is being widely promoted as a "treatment" for Down syndrome. There is no scientific support for the routine use of this protocol for people who have Down syndrome. It is important that families and healthcare professionals are aware of the lack of evidence for safety and benefits from use of this protocol." DOWN to Earth is not endorsing this program, only providing information. Please contact Sharon ASAP [email protected] if you need childcare provided for this meeting.
Our next gathering is a Cinco de Mayo party on Thursday, May 2nd, 2013. We will meet at the 20th Ave. YMCA in Oshkosh from 6-8pm. A basic taco bar will be provided, but families should plan to bring their favorite Mexican dish to pass. Besides food and exclusive access to parts of the facility, we will also have games & crafts.
